Course Overview:

This seminar aims to educate designers, architects and facility managers about the need to consider acoustics at the start of a project, providing information that will help them convince their clients. During the session, attendees will be exposed to a mix of typical background noises to experience, from an evolutionary perspective, the positive as well as negative effects on their mental health and physical well-being. This will serve as a basis to better work around those different sound exposures and thus create a working climate in which workers will feel more comfortable and closer to nature. Acoustics will no longer be an afterthought.

Presenter:

Richard Ellerbeck, Global Acoustic Consultant BuzziSpaceRichard has a major in Psychology with a Minor in Sound Technology at Rhodes University (South Africa). He worked as an acoustic consultant for 7 years with a focus on improving acoustics in a variety of corporate and office settings, before joining BuzziSpace more than one year ago.

He’s an accredited speaker for both CEU and CPD programs helping designers, architects, and facility managers gain knowledge about the importance of acoustics at the start of each project. Richard also supports the BuzziSpace product management team with advice and recommendations in the development of new acoustic products, including acoustic testing and calculating performance rates. Additionally, he advises the internal and external sales teams on acoustics.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will gain insights and a better understanding of the importance and impact of sound in a daily working environment. - Attendees will get a better understanding of how sound can be mastered and balanced with examples from different case studies. - Attendees will be motivated to introduce more biophilic and biometric designs, recognizing how these can contribute to creating better acoustic treatments. - Attendees will be equipped to create a perfect ’sound frame’ for quiet and happier workspaces
